A series of thirty-two freshly-written narratives for popular reading, designed to set forth, in historic continuity, the principal events and movements in Canada, from the Norse Voyages to the Railway Builders. The series was first published in 1900 to 1905 by Glasgow and Brook in Toronto. Chronicles of Canada, approached the Dominion’s history in a narrative and romantic fashion. As editors, Glasgow chose George MacKinnon Wrong, professor of history at the University of Toronto, and Hugh Hornby Langton, its librarian. The writers of the individual volumes include the very best authors of the day.
