Description:

Another of Captain Bonehill's inimitable sporting stories for boys, telling of the doings of a number of lads who live along the shores of Lake Otasco. Many of the lads are good oarmen, and the rivalry on the water is keen. One of the characters of the tale is a youth of Indian-negro blood, who adds not a little to the fun and mystery of the narrative. Among other things which the hero and his chums do is to visit Hermit Island, at the upper end of the lake, and bring to light the strange individual who afterward plays such an important part. What followed a robbery at a summer resort on the lake also adds to the interest of the volume. [Suggest a different description.]
